If you are unable to come to the Library, the Library will come to you!
SPL’s homebound service is a free program offering home delivery of library materials to Springdale residents who are homebound, regardless of age, income, or disability. This includes individuals who are temporarily disabled due to illness or injury as well as those who are permanently disabled.
We also offer this service to institutions such as nursing homes, assisted living and retirement facilities, and senior centers.
Participation in the Program
If you or someone you know is interested in participating in the library’s homebound program, please contact Olivia Harrington, Homebound Coordinator, by calling the library at 479-750-8180, or by emailing oharrington@springdalelibrary.org.
You must live within Springdale’s city limits to enroll. Deliveries take place every four weeks, on Wednesdays between 2pm – 4pm. Participants enjoy an extended check-out period and two renewals per item as long as no other patron has requested it.
Homebound-specific library accounts are managed by the Homebound Coordinator, so participants are not able to borrow items outside of the scheduled deliveries. In special circumstances, though, we are happy to work with you to ensure your access to Library materials.
What Can I Borrow?
The library has a huge selection of items for you to choose from! Each item we deliver will be tailored to your own needs and reading preferences. We can deliver specific requests, or we would love to shop for you based on your general likes and dislikes.
We offer:
- Large and regular print books
- DVDs and Blu-Rays
- Books on CD and Playaways
- Music CDs
- Magazines
- Access to e-books and other digital resources
