The Springdale Public Library has a wide variety of materials that cardholders can borrow and use at home. Books are available in a variety of formats from standard hardback and paperback copies to large print titles, audiobooks on CD and easy to use Playaway audio devices. The borrowing collection also includes movies on DVD and Blu-ray, music CDs, and even Nook e-readers that come preloaded with ebooks. Read below for more information on checkout periods, renewals, late fees, and holds.
Checkout Limits
Patrons are limited to a total of 30 items checked out and 30 items on hold.
Checkout Periods & Renewals
Books, magazines, music, audiobooks, Playaway audio and software may be checked out for two weeks. DVDs and Blu-rays are limited to a one week checkout period. All materials may be renewed twice unless items have been requested by other patrons. Eligible items will renew automatically on your account two (2) days before items are due. The loan periods will extend from the original due dates. You may also renew materials in person, by phone at 479-750-8180, or online.
Returning Materials
You may return library materials to any Washington County Library System member library. A convenient book drop is available 24 hours a day at the front entrance of the Springdale Public Library. Please return your library materials on time. If you are late returning materials, overdue fines will be charged to your account.
Overdue Materials
- Books, magazines, audiobooks, music CDs and software accrue overdue fines of $.10 per day, per item, with a maximum charge of $2.00 per item
- DVDs and Blu-rays accrue overdue fines of $1.00 per day, per item, with a maximum charge of $3.00 per item.
Reserving Materials
You may reserve an item that is checked out by another patron or available at another Washington County library. You may reserve these materials in person, by phone at 479-750-8180, or online.
Lost or Damaged Items
Patrons are billed for the Library replacement cost of a lost or damaged item.
