New Library Cards

Springdale Public Library cards are available FREE OF CHARGE to those who live, work, own property, or attend school in Washington County. Those who do not meet the qualifications for a free card may obtain a Library card for a $25.00 annual fee.

Types of Library Cards

SPL Temporary library card

This library card allows you to use SPL digital resources (databases and downloadable books, music, and magazines) for one month. This service requires a valid email address. One internet card registration per email address is permitted. Your temporary card will expire in 30 days. To get a permanent card, stop by the Library see card types identification requirements. Each person may have one library card. Register for this card online.

SPL eCard

This library card allows you to use SPL digital resources (databases and downloadable books, music, and magazines) from home as well as access to the public computers in the library. This card does not include borrowing privileges for other library materials.

In order to register for the eCard, the Library requires that you come in to the library and provide a valid, official photo ID.

SPL Borrowing Card

This library card allows you to borrow all library materials, use SPL digital resources, and have access to public computers in the library.

In order to register for a borrowing card, the Library requires a valid, official photo ID and proof of your current address. Valid IDs include a driver's license, a passport, an immigration card, a college or university ID, or a merchant-issued ID. Children and teenagers under the age of 18 need a parent/guardian present to provide photo ID, verification of address, and sign the application.

Checkout Limits

Patrons are limited to a total of 30 items checked out and 30 items on hold. Within this 30 item limit, patrons may have up to 5 items each of DVDs, videos, music CDs and software.These limits also apply to placing holds on DVDs, videos, music CDs and software.

Checkout Periods & Renewals

DVDs, videos, music CDs, and software are limited to a one week checkout period with NO renewals. All other materials may be checked out for two weeks with two renewals allowed unless items have been requested by other patrons. You may renew materials in person, by phone at 479-750-8180, or online.

Returning Materials

You may return library materials to any Washington County Library System member library. A convenient book drop is available 24 hours a day at the front entrance of the Springdale Public Library. Please return your library materials on time. If you are late returning materials, overdue fines will be charged to your account.

Reserving Materials

You may reserve an item that is checked out by another patron or available at another Washington County library. You may reserve these materials in person, by phone at 479-750-8180, or online.

Lost or Damaged Items

Patrons are billed for the Library replacement cost of a lost or damaged item.
